Commissioning of equipments

(OP)
Hi All,

I am looking after construction/installation of pressure equipments and respective piping systems of oil refinery on site. Very soon I am going to be involved in the commissioning of the installed equipments. I have to prepare procedures for lining up and pressurizing and testing the various systems before putiong it into operation. I do not have experience for this because I have never been involved in this kind of work before. If any one can help me in providing guide lines about what are the steps involved, what is the accurate sequence and what are the critical points to take care off.

Thanks to all.

RE: Commissioning of equipments

The oil company for whom you are doing the work has books' worth of procedures in place for safe construction and operation of their facilities, and they will expect you to follow them to the letter.  So this would be a real good time to ask for them.

RE: Commissioning of equipments

Yeah - Mike has it right.  Without those procedures you might become the 13th man on the moon!!!
