Can you change the aspect ratio of a drawing?

Can you change the aspect ratio of a drawing?

Can you change the aspect ratio of a drawing?

Is there a way in NX to change the aspect ratio of a drawing?
i'd like to get a 18meters long, 400mm wide part on a single sheet and, if it were possible in any way, would want it to roughly have the same height/width ratio as my paper.

This is purely as a visual aid and I'd love to be able to do it in NX, rather then having to mess around with paint/gimp etc to get what I want.

Can this be done in any way?

RE: Can you change the aspect ratio of a drawing?

Have you tried creating broken views (admittedly not as easily done in NX 7.5 as it can be starting with NX 8.0)?

Besides, it's not very practical even if we did provide a scheme to visually foreshorten a view since it would inevitably distort such things as circles into ellipses.

You have to simply create a 'model' which in not to scale and then use manual dimensions to give you the Drawing that documents your model.

I know about broken views and how to use them. I just thought it'd be clearer for this particular drawing to have it 'stretched'.
Ellipses etc aren't really a problem for this particular thing I want to do.
Creating a model just for that one drawing, as a visual aid for some manual calculations seems like too much of a hassle.

Thanks anyway.

To what i know "stretched views" would be a very non-ISO standard, ( in case ISO happens to be the relevant standard)
Also to the non experienced drawing reader , stretched views could be quite confusing too.

I proposed when working with a propeller-shaft manufacturer that we should use broken views but also add a small scale full view just to clarify the aspect of the shaft.

As I said before, the drawings would only serve as a visual aid for myself and would not go to anyone else.

Thanks for the info though.
