Electrical Closet Minimum Size

Electrical Closet Minimum Size

(OP)
Hi,
I am working on a 3-story residential building and am planning to have multi-tenant meter stacks on each floor of the building. Does anyone know what clearance is required from the meters to the wall?

The architect has provided a space 3'-10" wide but am not sure what the code requirements are. The applicable code here is the Ontario Electrical Safety Code, but as usaul the NEC reference should suffice!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dan

RE: Electrical Closet Minimum Size

Hello Dan,

Refer to section 6-410 of the CEC.  You need 1m minimum, but also check with your supply authority for min. dimensions.
