Displaying Experimental Modes over FEA Solution

Displaying Experimental Modes over FEA Solution

Displaying Experimental Modes over FEA Solution

(OP)
I have two sets of data i would like to display concurrently within ABAQUS 6.10.

The first data set consists of experimental measurements of displacement at discreet points on a structure.

The second set of data is the result of a modal analysis of this structure done within ABAQUS.

I would like to be able to display the experimental data and the FEA results at the same time to illustrate the accuracy (or lack thereof) of the simulation.

Is this even possible in ABAQUS? I assume I can't be the only person who's ever wanted to do this, but I can't find references to it anywhere.

RE: Displaying Experimental Modes over FEA Solution

In real-time analysis, I doubt, but after the analysis completed, you can have the simulation and experimental results comparatively as XYData or even better in excel.

I was hoping there would be a way to display the experimental results on top of the display of the finite elements results.

Looks like I'll have to export the data and display it in MATLAB. The structure's more complex than excel can handle.

That script's going to take a while to write.

ABAQUS 6.11 has good excel contribution. It may help and make your work more convenience.
