Configuration file

Hello.
I have many computers and want to put the same configuration of NX
in all.
Is there a file configuration you can copy and paste ,as it happens with Catia and the Catsettings?
Many thanks to all.
Best regards.

RE: Configuration file

Check out this thread, it is where I have begun to set up a network location that has all the customizations for all users

http://www.eng-tips.com/viewthread.cfm?qid=314037

If you have all users open with the bat file from the customizations folder provided at the thread they all open the same UG with the same features, templates, toolbars, and such.

Means you only have to modify one location to effect everyone.

Many thanks Twullf but i haven´t teamcenter.
I think this post does not help me.
Anyone know how I can do?
Best regards.

RE: Configuration file

If you have a valid Site ID you can go to the GTAC BBS at:

http://bbs.industrysoftware.automation.siemens.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=46341

where you will find that one of our people, Rob, has made it a bit of a career (he's been doing as long as I can recall) constructing and sharing with users, on a release-by-release basis, a set of 'tools' which will help you customize and set-up your systems so that it's as consistent and fully operational as possible.  Once at the BBS site (the above link takes you to Rob's current NX 8.0 set of tools) just do a search on his name and you should be able to find whatever version of his 'toolset' that you need for the version of NX which you're running or are wishing to set-up.

Thanks John R. Baker.
I thought it would be as simple as in catia or solidworks.
Copy a file and paste it to another pc.
Thank you very much anyway.
Best regards.

RE: Configuration file

I think if you check out what it is that Rob has put together, I think you find that he has provided exactly that sort of approach, but since it requires more than one file or template to be set up, he has developed an extensive set of tools which are very flexible yet can address what are really some basis housekeeping chores.  Granted, I've never used Rob's tools since I've got a personal scheme which I've used over the years which has been adequate for my albeit non-standard situation.  However, Rob's was designed specifically with real-world customers in mind and over the years he has gotten untold complements and thank you's from literally hundreds of customers who have taken advantage of his offerings.  So my advice is check it out, there should be something there that will meet your needs.
