Decent reference for liquid rates for solids to columns ?

(OP)
all,

i'm looking for some reference material on column tray designs to handle fine solids (or high potential off high solids to trays).. the column separation from a VLE is easy.. but i'm keen to find (and purchase),, a reference guideline..

i appreciate it can often been system dependent.. and you scale from system to system.. but equally i'd like to understand the fundamentals.. as very smart teacher told me scale up by definition is impossible.. one parameter or a few always change.. so you have to pick what is important and fix that..

Cheers

James
