Could any one help me in selecting concrete strength for Head Walls of SWM Pond? Does it require air content?

RE: Concrete type for Head walls

if freeze thaw is a concern than air would be a good idea
Class A, 3,000 psi compressive strength at 28 days is sufficient

RE: Concrete type for Head walls

Agree with cvg that 3ksi is probably ok, but the strength should be based on the stresses in the concrete....probably low, but should be checked.

The term "Class A" means different things in different areas, so just stick with specifying by strength.
