UCS-66 Impact Test Governing Thickness

UCS-66 Impact Test Governing Thickness

UCS-66 Impact Test Governing Thickness

(OP)
Is interpretation VIII-1-89-308 valid?
Per UCS-66(a)(1)(b), 2 components welded to form corner joint, the thicker material exceeds 4 in, the thinner material is =<4", impact testing is required. This does not agree with the way UCS-66(a)(1)(b) is written?

RE: UCS-66 Impact Test Governing Thickness

Our AI lists that interpretation as "Caution - questionable". Pending further clarification, to be safe I would assume that it is invalid.
