EXECUTING CODE DURING PACK AND GO

EXECUTING CODE DURING PACK AND GO

EXECUTING CODE DURING PACK AND GO

(OP)
Hi,
I would like to know if it s possible to execute a code on each files within pack and go. For exemple, if I pack and go an assembly, automaticaly when I ll press the save button, each files will have their properties deleted before they get saved.

Any ideas? Could be by using task manager or something...

RE: EXECUTING CODE DURING PACK AND GO

You would need an API program written to do this.

Out of curiosity, why would you want the properties deleted?

Actualy, I wish the Author name to be deleted when a pack and go is made. I already have a macro that add this information when a new part or drawing is created but when a pack and go is made, I need this information to be deleted for the macro can proceed with the right information.

I know it sound complicated but if you can explain me how to do if I wish a macro to delete that author name each time I perform a pack and go. How to built that macro and how to do to autoexecute it on each pack and go.

Thanks for your time!

Thanks but I m using 2010 version of solidworks and I think api pack and go fonction only comes with the 2012 version..
If not, I m not able to make it run.

RE: EXECUTING CODE DURING PACK AND GO

I'm not into API stuff, but I believe (at least some) API calls have been available for P&G since it's introduction in SW07.

RE: EXECUTING CODE DURING PACK AND GO

Well in that case, you can have your macro modified that will open the files after P & G and then delete all the custom info.
