Contact Resistance conversion from electrical to mechanical

Contact Resistance conversion from electrical to mechanical

Contact Resistance conversion from electrical to mechanical

(OP)
Hi Folks,

I am interested in knowing if anyone has experience converting electrical resistance (ohms/area) to thermal conductance (Power/(area*K)) or (W/m^2K). I need to this mechanical world for performing thermal simulations and I have found a chart on contact pressure as function of electrical resistance.

Thank you any and all feedback,

Regards

I agree.

A comment on terminology.

Since contact resistance is not proportional to area,  electrical contact resistance chracteristics probably wouldn't be characterized  as "ohms per area".

If we assume contact resistance is inversely proportional to area, then "Siemens per area" might be a more descriptive term.

FYI - read carefully! those equations are sensitive to a few things!
