Modeling Decals?

Modeling Decals?

Modeling Decals?

(OP)
What is the best way to model a decal? Basically I am looking for a way to design a 2D design that I would then apply to a 3D surface.

Thanks Ferdo, but what I am looking for is a way to create a 2D decal which I would then apply to a 3D surface. I am hoping for an assembly like function, since the decal also has to be defined and released through the PLM system.

An informational decal is almost never considered to have any functional thickness. I am therefore happy if the CAD definition of it has no thickness.

NX has a function that will place an image (JPG, PNG or TIF) on the face(s) of a model. However I have not explored it yet.

RE: Modeling Decals?

CATIA also have one , I can't remember in which workbench is, I used only once and now I don't have CATIA...

RE: Modeling Decals?

You are looking for "apply sticker", think it can be found in the photo studio workbench... otherwise look for it in tools/customize/commands
