Could I use a relay/resistor for this

Could I use a relay/resistor for this

RE: Could I use a relay/resistor for this

You might be able to use the controller to control a "Contactor" (electrician-speak for a relay).

This assumes that it's a simple Off/On control system.

A careful system designer would also consider the implications of the decreased MTBF due to the added complexity.

RE: Could I use a relay/resistor for this

Hire a qualified electrician. There are code issues as well as suitability issues.
11 Amps on a 10 Amp controller? Not good.
22 Amps on a 15 Amp controller? Even worse.
1.5HP motor? Use an HP rated switch. Look at Square D 9013 series HP rated switches.
