Hot rolled means as rolled? EN 10210

Hot rolled means as rolled? EN 10210

(OP)
Hello everyone,
i have a question. On this standard EN 10210 is says that some steel grades has to be HOT ROLLED. I have a discussion with a client because he says that HOT ROLLED means AS ROLLED CONDITION so i can not do a heat treatment to the pipes, according to the norm.

For me hot rolled is the making-process, and the pipes are hot rolled (not cold forming)but i don't know why they can not be normalized, as an additional process.

Anyone knows this norm or knows where i can find the answer/definition for this question.
Thank you so much in advance.

RE: Hot rolled means as rolled? EN 10210

I can only tell you that "hot rolled" means indeed the manufacturing process.

No good reason not to Normalize hot-rolled steel; Except

1) "The customer is always right [if his checkbook remains open]"

2) When the customer is being a bigoted, ignorant, pig-headed idiot, immediatly refer to rule #1.
