Reference model dimension for "PCD" in drawing callout?

Reference model dimension for "PCD" in drawing callout?

Reference model dimension for "PCD" in drawing callout?

(OP)
I have done a great deal of googling for this, with no luck.

How might one reference a dimension used in model construction geometry for use in a circular hole callout.

eg:

<NUM_INST>X <MOD-DIAM> <hw-tapdrldia> <HOLE-DEPTH> <hw-tapdrldepth>
<hw-threaddesc> <hw-threadclass> <HOLE-DEPTH> <hw-threaddepth>
ON <MOD-DIAM> $$1.000$$ PCD

with $$ $$ represending a reference to a dimension in parent model
resulting in the hole callout displaying "... on 1.000 PDC"

This is SW2011 SP4.

Thanks for help in advance

RE: Reference model dimension for "PCD" in drawing callout?

arlenn,

As per ASME Y14.5, use the centremark feature in circular mode to draw your pitch circle.   Apply a dimension to this.  Convert the dimension to a diameter.  Apply a dimension to the angle between the holes, and show the quantity of holes.

For examples, see page 21 in ASME Y14.5M-1994, or page 22 in ASME Y14.5-2009.

This easier to do in SolidWorks.  Note everyone understands acronyms like PCD and BCD.
