can i assign writes to a .prt?

can i assign writes to a .prt?

(OP)
hi, I am relatively new to Nx. We have been using NX for about 2 years, and we have not yet installed Teamcenter. As of now my files are a mess on a random network drive. Does anyone know if it is possible to assign read/write access to .prt files? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

RE: can i assign writes to a .prt?

Without Teamcenter your only real choice is to use the normal Windows (or Linux/MacOS) procedures to control ownership as well as the 'read only' status of your NX part files.  But if you do, native (non-Teamcenter) NX will fully honor these Windows (or Linux/MacOS) properties.

ok, thats what I thought. Thanks for you help

RE: can i assign writes to a .prt?

I have done this at 2 different companies. Using the search options for loading files from a released directory structure over WIP files or opposite if you are developing models or manufacturing from them.
