Display States in Drawings

Display States in Drawings

Display States in Drawings

(OP)
So i have been having this problem for awhile and been searching everywhere without luck and I was hoping someone out there could help!

The situation is that I have one master assembly(with various display states) which contains parts and sub assemblies (with their own respective display states.)  Now, the only part I am having trouble with is a single part within the master assembly that has 2 display states which is not updating correctly in the drawings. It will go back and forth without notice. When I go into the model, however, and change the display state it works perfectly, in the model, but for some reason is not translating over to the drawings.
This part that I am having trouble with is a separate assembly saved as a part, and the difference in the display states toggles hidden/shown objects within the part.  but it WORKS in the model, just not in the drawing.

I'm running SW 2012

Thanks,
Dustin

RE: Display States in Drawings

When you saved it as a part, did you select "all components", "exterior componenets", or "surfaces"?  If you selected "surfaces," the drawing may appear mostly not there regardless of the display state.  Is that what you are seeing?

RE: Display States in Drawings

Make sure the drawing is calling the correct config. Display states can be linked to configs.

Shaggy-

I never noticed the options before when you save assemblies as parts.  I now tried saving "all components" and that has seemed to work so far!  really appreciate the fast responses!

CorBlimey-
Thanks for the response, my assembly only had one config originally
