improving mixing equipment electric utilization rate

(OP)
I am doing some retrofit work in an industrial facility. The customer complains of a low equipment utilization rate with the mixing machinery in their manufacturing process.  This mixing machinery has a high electrical demand and potentially could yield energy savings if it was more effectively utilized. Is there a publication for a general method I could employ to figure this out every time?

RE: improving mixing equipment electric utilization rate

Gary,

Here's where I'd start.... US D.O.E.  (Department Of Energy)

http://www.eere.energy.gov/

They've always been very helpful whenever I've had

a need to contact them direct.
