CMU Wall Sitting on a Concrete Slab

CMU Wall Sitting on a Concrete Slab

(OP)
Hi all,

Does anyone know if there's any code requirements for the surface where the CMU will sit on a concrete slab? I.E. does the concrete surface need to be roughened to a minimum amplitude?

Thanks!

RE: CMU Wall Sitting on a Concrete Slab

Why?  I have never seen that done.

RE: CMU Wall Sitting on a Concrete Slab

No.  That's what the rebar stubs are for.

You will get some additional shear from the bond between the concrete slab and wall mortar too.
