Maglock on existing exit door to building

Maglock on existing exit door to building

(OP)
I had a query with regards to the application of a delayed egress system on existing exit door.  The existing exit door to the building is not fire-rated.  It has a normal mechanical latch to it.  To be compliant to code, do I have to remove the existing mechanical latching device and only use maglock on the exit door or could systems co-exist.

Thank you.

RE: Maglock on existing exit door to building

If the power goes out - how do you get out.  I believe they can/must co-exist

What's wrong with a crash-bar system like you see at Timmy's?
