Power Over Ethernet

Power Over Ethernet

Power Over Ethernet

(OP)
Greetings

I have digital input and output modules coupled to Ethernet couplers in each sections of Medium voltage Switchgear. The MV Switchgear is 25 sections. The vendor of ethernet couplers, I am dealing with, have Power over Ethernet module but not strong enough to be good till last section as I need 24V DC for each digital input and output module. As per my current configuration, I am using a power supply (125VDC/24VDC) in every section for the coupler with which I am not convinced.

Can anyone suggest me any good power over ethernet module (Manufacturer & Model) which can transmit 24V DC for around 20m looping in the switchgear?

RE: Power Over Ethernet

In my opinion you are expecting too much for POE. Its intent is to power one or two low power devices in areas where it is not practical to have a power supply such as a remote camera etc. It was not intended to be powering a complete lineup of switchgear I/O modules, you are just asking for trouble. Who's I/O are you using that suggested this?
