C2 Formed Concrete Finish

C2 Formed Concrete Finish

(OP)
Just wondering if anyone (think it might be an Aussie thing) knows the C type formed finishes for concrete.  It appears that the recent (2010) version of AS 3610 uses Type 1, 2, etc.  But our spec says C2, C3, etc.  Any clarification would be useful. cheers

RE: C2 Formed Concrete Finish

BigH...I think you're right about the Oz thing.

The "C" I believe stands for "Class", as in Class 1 through Class 5 as described by the Cement, Concrete and Aggregates Assoc. in Australia.  I have attached their finishes guide that describes these....

RE: C2 Formed Concrete Finish

AS3610.1-2010 does use Class 1 through Class 5 for off form concrete.  I suppose C2 would refer to Class 2 as Ron suggested, but writing it that way in a specification is unusual.  Are you sure it is an Australian Specification?  I believe these designations mean something else in NZ and something else again in Europe.

BigH, where in the Standard did you see Type 1, etc.?

@hokie66 - can't check now - expired copy, but I probably wrote "Type" as a vernacular instead of just 1, 2, 3, etc. Pretty sure it is Australian given the firm that produced the specifications.

Thanks Ron.
