Material as a function of step

Hello,

I would like to change Young modulus value after first phase of loading.
Is it possible to change material parameters during calculations?

Thank you in advance,
Anna

RE: Material as a function of step

Hello,

You can change Young modulus during calculation.
The modulus can be set respect to field dependecies and value of field variable
can be control respect to analysis time with *FIELD keyword or if necessary control with a subroutine.

Search for "field variable" on the forum and also check Abaqus documentation:
Abaqus Analysis User's Manual, Part VII: Prescribed Conditions, 32.6.1 Predefined fields

If you need detail information please let me know.

Regards,
Bartosz

RE: Material as a function of step

hi AnnaG and Bartosz;
Can you please tell me how to do to change material parametres during calculating?
i have a multi-steps heat transfer model and i have to change the thermal conductivity at the beginning of each step for eache set element
Exemple:
for step -1: i have only set-1 with a non zero thermal conductivity and all others sets with zero thermal conductivity
for step-2: i will change the value of set-2 from zero to 5 and let conductivity of set-1 not equal to zero.
Ect...

Thank you very much
