Staircase pressurisation system

Staircase pressurisation system

Staircase pressurisation system

(OP)
Hi,

I designing a pressurization system for a 10 storied commercial building based on the guidelines given in BS 5588 Part 4 1998, the total CFM for the unit I have calculated is 13500 for maintaining a pressure of 50 Pa in stairwell.
As there is no space available we are not able to install ducting for pressurizing the stairwell.

I am facing difficulty to get the exact static pressure for the 13500 CFM FAN.
I kindly request you to brief for the selection of static pressure or please mail the related document or link to understand the selection in brief.

Regards

What does it matter if there is no space for duct?

Why don't you get your architect to make space for the code required duct and then you can work out the static pressure.

HI, not possible to have ducting over there, can we have air injection in stairwell without ducting from top of building ?

RE: Staircase pressurisation system

You can feed from anywhere, as long as you satisfy the code criteria.  I am not sure under yours or all codes, but you may be able to share the stairwell ventilation duct, assuming you have one of these, which may get bigger, but smaller than a second shaft.
