Jogged Dimension Leader
Jogged Dimension Leader
(OP)
Hi,
It's been a while since I used NX & I forgot to make a jogged dimensional leader.
What are the steps (using NX 6)?
Thanks

I have a Radius dimension that I would like jogged. In some instances, I have a note with leader line that I would also like jogged.
How to do this?

Now you can add 'jogs' to the leaders of things like ID symbols and text notes. Just double-click on the leader and when the dialog opens, in the section labeled 'Leader' you will find an option titled 'Specify Jog Position'. Select this option and you will be able to select a point on the leader, which will create a 'handle' that can be dragged to where you need it. You can add as many 'jogs' as you want and these handles will be available in the future whenever you edit these annotations.

Once that is turned off you can create a note with only a "." for text and turn the character size down to something too small to be noticeable. Now you can associate the location of the note to the dimension so they will stay together and use the leader from the note as a substitute for the dimension line and arrow. You can add as many jogs as you want to the note leader and even add several arrows to point to multiple surfaces or whatever else you might want to do.
Keep in mind that a jog in a dimension line is not really a drafting practice that is supported by the ASME standard. I'm not sure of ISO. I would guess not, which is why NX does not have direct functionality for the practice.
Hope that helps.
