Dimensions

Hi, I'm new in a job and I am trying to dimension a rectangle on a plane, which is the top of a extrusion. I defined the reference plane as the side of the extrusion, but the rectangle I am drawing still has dimensions from the front reference plane. I want to use the other side of the extrusion as a reference for the box, but the dimension tool won't alow me to dimension from here. I click the dimension button then the edge of the extrusion and nothing happens. I know there is something I'm doing wrong, can anyone help.

RE: Dimensions

You need to delete the reference you don't want, then replace it with a reference you do want. When you have done that you will be able to add the dimension.

Ok, I will try to figure out that. Thanks for the quick reply.

RE: Dimensions

Are you drawing or sketching...

Assuming drawing, click on sketch, references and select the reference surface you want to use.

You can then delete the old reference so that Pro E does not use it.
