ASME GDTP Senior Level Certification exam

ASME GDTP Senior Level Certification exam

ASME GDTP Senior Level Certification exam

(OP)
Dear All,

I have recently completed ASME GDTP Tecnologist certification exam,I found this subject very much interesting and helpful for mechanical design engineer.

Now I want to appear for Senior Level Certification exam. With the help of this forum i like to know about the this exam in detail.

I am aware that there are so many Senior Level Certified professional who are serving all top companies across the world.

Could any one help me out to find out the answer/ advise of my queries:-

1.How exactly senior level exam is different from Technologist level i.e. in term of difficulty level, type of questions etc.
2. I came to know that there one written examination apart from multiple choice questions. What are the types of question asked in written exam.
3. Based on your experience what are the career opportunities do I have after passing Senior Level Certified exam.

All the suggestions are welcomed here.

Thanks in advance.

RE: ASME GDTP Senior Level Certification exam

I didn't do the Technologist level exam, but I did the Senior Level.  The primary difference is the depth of knowledge / understanding of the content.  The questions must be read VERY carefully to understand what they are ACTUALLY asking, rather than what you initially think they are asking.  You really need to get a copy of Y14.5.2 to see the body of knowledge required for the Senior Level exam as well as learning about the Linked Topics method of studying.
As for career value, that's dependant on where you are located globally, what other skills you have to go with it, and where you want to do in your career.  It is a good tool, and will elevate you above many of your colleagues who are not GDTP's.  That in itself may boost your career by showing that you have the initiative to improve yourself and learn.

RE: ASME GDTP Senior Level Certification exam

I have written both and can tell you that the senior exam was a bit more difficult than the technologist exam. I had an extremely good result in my technologist and a lower score on my senior. Interesting that my weakest facet in the senior exam was the technologist section. Go figure that one.

Good luck and you will be brain dead when you complete the exam.
