For steel wire rope/cables used in structural applications (supporting structural members), what are the applicable safety factors is there a specification in AISC or AASHTO rather than purchasing the ASCE reference?  I am interested in cable in a vertical application (tension only).

Usually in the 5:1 range.  Mfg should be able to help you with this....
