Concrete beam expansion joint

Concrete beam expansion joint

Concrete beam expansion joint

(OP)
I am designing foundations and concrete ground beam for a pre-fabricated steel structure ( single story 40m x120m), the beam is 0.6m high and should support a hollow block cement wall,  3m high , the upper 0.2m of the beam is above ground level
my question is about the expansion joint , the spacing isn't the issue , the issue is the detailing of the expansion joint, is splitting the ground beam with shared foundation is enough or it requires splitting both the beam and foundation.

RE: Concrete beam expansion joint

Usually split the beam - but leave the foundation together.
