Good morning guys.

Like the title says I'm looking for an equivalent to the Strong-Drive® SDS Structural Wood Screw 1/4x6 screws.  Our Supplier has this item on back order so we're looking for a replacement.  I'm coming from a structural steel background, the last time I looked at timber design was in my final year timber design class in Uni.

any help would be appreciated

thanx,
Jeff

Try calling the geeneral number for Simpson at 1-800-999-5099 and ask for the local rep.  They should be able to lead you in the right direction.

Check out USP - Google them.  They sell many of the same things Simpson does...

Thanks for the quick responses guys USP looks good I also found a lead on some some fastenmaster Trusslok's that fit the bill as well.

RE: Simpson 1/4x6 strong tie equivalent

Can you specify ordinary lag bolts of the same size?

RE: Simpson 1/4x6 strong tie equivalent

You could use lags - but these truss bolts tend to be stronger and easier to install.... for what that's worth.

Logboss Screws.  Just google them.
