Power Plant

Power Plant

(OP)
Hi,

I was wondering how to correct gas turbines shaft power for actual conditions, given that the manufacturer communicates a power at reference conditions (typically 1013 mbara and 15°C)?
Are there any standard charts or correction factors formulas that I could use?

The gas turbines in my plant are very old and it is difficult to find the original specifications.
The power generation at the reference conditions is about  5MW.
Ambiant conditions are: 10 m elevation with respect to the sea level and 30°C.

Thanks.

RE: Power Plant

If you would state what turbines you have, someone might have some technical data on them.

RE: Power Plant

most people use the commercially available gas turbine and combined cycle plant simulators, but there are also standard correction curves from the OEM. Those std curve may  assume commercially clean compressor conditions. I think if you want an accurate prediction at off-design elevation and climate  conditions, you would need to characterize the efficiency of the compressor in its current aged state.
