RE: Pipework support design guides

hi
your piping stress engineer should be furnishing you the support reactions. once you have those numbers it is a straightforward simple design. as for the clamps/components themselves why dont you buy off the shelf items like from www.pipingtech.com - or there would be other vendors who offer similar products. these components are appropriately designed with adequate safety factors. but you need to be providing them loading from your stress analysis. these products are not quite expensive.

also for pipes less than 8" (219mm) it would be preferable to ask vendors like hilti (www.hilti.com) or oglaend (www.oglaend-system.com) to provide pipe supports. these are meccano type systems quite easy to build. all bolted construction. componenets are off the shelf items and you save a lot (in time and money) in fabricating steel supports. these guys take responsibility for degign and provide cut sheets for construction.
