In designing col for sway frame, P-Delta effects and Moment magnification is applied when its suffice with limiting value.
Now the code says that the smaller value moments should be negative in column in question but positive when single curvature. Lets move back in analysis of frames by moment distribution method its result that the upper part of the column in question moments is always smaller and positive and below were larger and negative? It contradicts what being mention above.

They are always "backward" by the way I think.  Just design for the worst case and you will be OK.  And don't forget - if it can go one way - it can probably go the other way??!!
