Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to confirm if my solution is correct.

We have a Produced Gas Condenser where the tube medium is Water and the shell medium is Produced Vapor.

Since the Produced Vapor is condensing, I cannot use Q =mcdeltaT, but instead I have to use Qproduced vapor= mHvap.

PROBLEM:  The Produced Vapor has multiple compositions.

MY SOLUTION: If I assume it is a closed system as in -Qbfw = Qpw. Could I just do Qbfw = mHvap and use the Enthalpy of Vaporization of water which is much easier to obtain?

If you are boiling the water to make steam by condensing the HC vapor, then the answer is yes.

You should be sure that there is no temperature change in the condensing vapor. If there would be, you need to include the sensible heat to make your computation more accurate.
