simply supported concrete beam design using sap 2000 v15

simply supported concrete beam design using sap 2000 v15

simply supported concrete beam design using sap 2000 v15

(OP)

span 20ft
width (b) =16in
effective depth (d) =22in
height (h) = 24in
total factored load uniformly distributed = 9.4 kips/ft
fc'= 4000 psi

i have modeled this beam in sap 2000 v15, and the results i am getting are not consistent with what i have in my book ( design of concrete structures by Arthur H. Nilson 13th edition page 134 , if you have any comments on the book, you are most welcome to mention them)

there is 3 to 4 in^2 difference in the area of flexural steel and 2 in^2 in shear steel, i have modeled the beam following the tutorials that come along with sap 2000 ( problem H )

the question says that the total factored load is 9.4 kip/ft so
i assumed the dead load to be 4.5 kip/ft and the live load to be 2.5 kip/ft. so that when factored using 1.2(DL)+1.6(LL) it will give 9.4 kip/ft
the self wight was not included in this problem so i made the self weight multiplier equals 0.

i did not run modal analysis because i am only interested in linear static design currently

i would also like to see the rebar locations and spacings in sap 2000 v15, if any one knows how, please tell me. if sap can not view the rebar location and spacing, is there any other software that does this ?

is there any method to check the results given by sap, or should i  verify the results manually ? if any one knows faster and reliable methods please do inform me.

i have attached the sap file in which i did the beam design.

thanks for your time
