Recycle line for Fire Water Pump

Recycle line for Fire Water Pump

Recycle line for Fire Water Pump

(OP)
Hi all,

I have a fire water system that consists of 2 electrical pumps, 1 diesel and 1 jockey.

The suction is from a water pond; and individual reliefs is at individual discharge of the pump.

I am a bit confused with the use of the recyle line which is back to the open pond. What is the purpose and when is this line supposed to be used.

Many thanks for this simple question.

RE: Recycle line for Fire Water Pump

I've never heard the term "recycle line".

Pump test / test header?????

RE: Recycle line for Fire Water Pump

Yeah, I am thinking he is referring to a test header line, possibly with a flow meter installed.
