Sketching on a part

Sketching on a part

Sketching on a part

(OP)
Using Autodesk Inventor 2012 and I came across what should be a very easy question to answer (for experienced users).

When I try to draw on a plane that intersects a solid body, any portion of the sketch that is behind the solid body is hidden from view. The attached pictures shows clearly what I am referring to. In SolidWorks, the sketch normally shows right through the part, is there some design philosophy that I am not understanding with Inventor?

Image Caption:
(left) Indicates where the plane is located
(middle) Indicates a sketch that is fully shown because no portion is behind the solid body
(right) Indicates a sketch that is partially shown and partially hidden by solid body.

Thanks in advance!

I found the answer to this problem. Slice Graphics.

RE: Sketching on a part

Inventor is not AutoCAD.
You are in the wrong forum.

You probably know that I'm well aware of that. They are, on the other hand both manufactured by autodesk. I didn't see an inventor forum so i figured this one was the best fit. Perhaps i'll find the water more inviting at the solidworks forum.

I would have done the same mechfeeney, so there should be no apology.
