Rename part while running NX in Teamcenter

Rename part while running NX in Teamcenter

Rename part while running NX in Teamcenter

(OP)
Might be a dumb questions, but as the title states, is there a way to change the name of a part while working in NX on Teamcenter.
The way we are currently changing part files is editing the parts properties in Teamcenter, but I was just wondering of there was a method better than that.

Thanks,
Chris
NX 7.5

RE: Rename part while running NX in Teamcenter

If it's just Name and Description that yo uwant to change, there's not much better that you can do, but if you want to change Item IDs as well, ask Siemens or your reseller about a utility called Recursive Rename.

You can use the TCRename function.
Ask to your VAR how to use and discover.

Thank you...

Cuba, excuse my ignorance, but what is a VAR?
Is TCRename a tool in Teamcenter?

RE: Rename part while running NX in Teamcenter

VAR stands for 'Value Added Reseller', sometimes better known as a 'distributor'. However, if you deal directly with Siemens PLM then there are no VAR's (middlemen).
