Dry pipe valve in horizontal oreintation

Dry pipe valve in horizontal oreintation

Dry pipe valve in horizontal oreintation

(OP)
Are there ANY dry pipe system valves designed/approved to be installed in the horizontal position.

We have a very unique challenge........horizontal dry pipe valve would be the best option; however, I cannot find any approved for horizontal oreintation!!

Thanks

Appears largest is two inch

Existing 6in. DPV.........we need minimum 6 in. diameter. It does not look good at this juncture!

RE: Dry pipe valve in horizontal oreintation

what do you mean in a horizontal position?
1) Are you talking about the discharge coming from the side?
2) Are you talking about both supply and discharge from the sides

Option 2 does not exist for one specific reason.
It would required an extensive engineering and design process that can only to 1 out of 10 applications. No true sale value. Meaning these valve could sit in the warehouse for a while.
I know this because a close friend of mine and regional sales manager for victaulic had that conversation with me years back.

Those with discharges on the side are typically deluge dry valves.
