Equipment nameplate

Equipment nameplate

Equipment nameplate

(OP)
Hello. I need to come up with a nameplate for equipment we built and it has to state amps and full-load amps. It's a 3-phase, 208 VAC machine that has a 1/2 hp motor (1.8 Amps as per motor nameplate) and a few DC power supplies. How do I go about calculating these values? Do I add the 1.8 amps from the motor and the power supplies ratings?. Which would be the amps and which the full-load amps? Thanks for your help.

RE: Equipment nameplate

Why do you need to calculate when you can measure the actual current? Run your machine fully loaded and you get your full-load amps.

RE: Equipment nameplate

I think this a.c. motor is inverter supplied [from a D.C. source-may be a battery].So the D.C. voltages are not the motor supplying
voltage but the inverter input D.C. 1.8 A it seems to be the rated current at rated voltage[ 208 V].

The motor is indeed inverter supplied from 208 VAC from a control panel. Everything else is 110 VAC. The DC supplies are for FETs driving 24VDC solenoids and some seven-segmnent displays. I'm confused as to what would be the AMPS and the FULL-LOAD AMPS. I'll try to get a clamp to measure but I was hoping to estimate. Thanks.

RE: Equipment nameplate

Are you sure that it must be Amps? It is more common and more useful to see full load Amps and Minimum Circuit Ampacity on nameplates.

RE: Equipment nameplate

If its a machine in USA, then go by NFPA79 tells you what info is be included on a nameplate.

RE: Equipment nameplate

It would be easiest to load the machine to 100% and measure the current that is being supplied to it (incoming power cable) for the Full Load Amps.
