Test Sep Shutdown Logic

Test Sep Shutdown Logic

Test Sep Shutdown Logic

(OP)
For test separator ESD logic on an offshore platform where the test separator is supplied directly from wells via a dedicated Test Manifold:

1. Should a high pressure in the test sep isolate the tested well in addition to isolating the inlet ESDV.

2. If yes to q 1, how can this be done given that only one well at a time will flow to the test separator and it is undesirable to simply shutdown all producing wells for a test separator upset.

Thanks.

RE: Test Sep Shutdown Logic

Dear ChemEngSquirrel,

-a high pressure in the test sep shouldn't isolate the tested well
unless the well is protected by HIPPS "high-integrity pressure
 protection system".
-for a high pressure signal activated on test separator, the PCV
should open gradually till reaches wide open then, the PSV should
 opens.

I wish i May helped you!! :)
