Hi Mates!
I would like to know your opinion on lightning protection on areas where zone 1 and 2 are classified.
I met design that all parts of LPS are outside hazardous zones.
It is reasonable.
However the att D5.1 of IEC 62395-3 says that 1m separation is needed, but if it is impossible and conductors passing the hazardous zone, they shall be continuous, or connection amount shall be minimized.
Further -connections shall be secure (brazing, welding, clamping, crimping, seaming, screwing, bolting).
In effect - it is ordinary lightning protection.
What is in NFPA?
I reviewed NFPA 780 and nothing found about any limitation.
Do you have any experience with that?

7.3.3.8* "To prevent sideflashes, the minimum distance between a mast or overhead ground wire and
the structure to be protected shall be not less than the bonding distance or sideflash distance".
The sideflash distance is simply calculated further.
IEC 62305-3 indicate how to calculate the required distance in 2 ways:
