Cyrogenic tanks for hydrogen gas
Cyrogenic tanks for hydrogen gas
(OP)
I am familar with compressed gas storage, but have no experience with cyrogenic storage.
What process equipment will my facility require to liquify the hydrogen gas?
How do I equate the amount of hydrogen gas to storage to the volume of the tank?
Any advice would be appreicated.
Thank you

RE: Cyrogenic tanks for hydrogen gas
I've double walled tanks used to storage liquid ethane at basically atmospheric pressure. Liquid hydrogen I've seen has been in Dewars but I don't know what industrial storage is done at. To keep it liquid, the pressure has to be fairly low due to its critical pressure, 12.8 atm.
As far as your last question, that's fairly easy. Look up the PVT property for liquid hydrogen for its density. Perry's Handbook for Chemical Engineers would have it, that would allow you to estimate how much gas you need to produce a certain amount of liquid.
