The vessel is to be installed in underground pit and vessel design shall be checked for buoyancy.

Can you please recommend references that address buoyancy checks?

Just compare the weight of the vessel against weight of water the vessel displaces.

That is the weight of an empty vessel.  The pit (assuming a concrete box) buoyancy by itseld should also be evaluated.
