Box selecting multiple faces

Box selecting multiple faces

Box selecting multiple faces

(OP)
I'm trying to quickly select a bunch of faces, it concerns a standard part downloaded from the net that has too many little notches and details and I want to use remove face to get rid of them.

Problem is, selecting faces one by one is tedious. I can find no way to box select a whole bunch of faces. Not with the selection traps, nor with the selection filters.

There must be a way!

I don't know, just create a simple model and try to box select multiple faces at once. It doesn't do it. Is there any way?

RE: Box selecting multiple faces

You can box select multiple surfaces not multiple faces of a solid.  The selection toolbar and it's options are applied to elements and not the topology of the elements.

RE: Box selecting multiple faces

Derek is right, I thought you have a model done from surfaces.

But you can try to use different ways to select topology of the elements (in other words, use Look: Visible on screen (is just an example) or some other criteria.

See picture attached.
