NX 6 Wave Linker - get view properties from original part

NX 6 Wave Linker - get view properties from original part

Dear all,

is there a way to have automatically selected the option "get view property from original part" in the linked body feature?

I am not sure about the name of the option, since I am running NX 6 in italian

RE: NX 6 Wave Linker - get view properties from original part

I think you mean the 'Use Display Properties of Parent Part' option found on the WAVE Liner dialog.

I checked and it appears that we left the information about that option out of the NX 6.0 documentation, however it was added in the NX 7.5 help files and here is what it says:

Use Display Properties of Parent Part:  Creates the linked data with the display properties of the parent part instead of inheriting the display properties of the work part.

Exactly that one!

I need to have it automatically set; since I am using Moldwizard, what I need is that the holes cut by standard parts (reference set "false") have standard colors on the plates for CAM use.

RE: NX 6 Wave Linker - get view properties from original part

If you toggle that option ON the first time you use this function it will remain ON until you toggle it OFF at some future date.

Well, it is not properly true: when I use pocket function in Moldwizard, the linked body has not that function toggled on, even if I had it toggled on before. What can I do?

RE: NX 6 Wave Linker - get view properties from original part

I can't speak for MoldWizard.  The behavior I was commenting on is what we refer to as NX Dialog Memory, which applies to ONLY the so-called 'block-style' dialogs (the 'new' NX dialog style introduced with NX 5.0).

So, what do you suggest we can do to keep the colors of the tool bodies on the target bodies, using the pocket function in MW?

RE: NX 6 Wave Linker - get view properties from original part

As I said, I can't help you with MoldWizard.
