Applying Different Properties to one mesh in AFC?

Applying Different Properties to one mesh in AFC?

(OP)
Hi,
I am wondering if it is possible to mesh a plate in Advanced Meshing Tool (one mesh for the whole plate). And then apply different material properties to different sections?

Say I have a 1x2m plate and I want the thickness of half the plate to be 10mm and half to be 15mm. Do I have to create two different meshes and apply the two 2D-properties to those seperatly?

In Abaqus this would be done by making two Sets of Elements and creating two Section Assignment referencing those sets.

kind regards
K
