Heat transfer through air

Heat transfer through air

Heat transfer through air

(OP)
Hi,
I am new to Abaqus. I am trying to model the heat distribution through air in a 1 by 1 in. box. This is on a hot plate at 300 deg C.the surrounding walla are at RT and are insulated from outside. I have tried to simplify the problem to a very basic one since I need approximate answers.
I have modeled a 2D shell and put 300 C on the bottom face and 25 C on the other faces (as BC's). I have used material properties of air. I do not understand what exactly the results are the Abaqus is giving me, I mean what is it doing. I havent applied any load. I am running it as a steady - state solution.
Can anyone help me with if this is a correct procedure, or is there a better wat and what are the answers.
Thanks, appreciate your time and help.
Sne

RE: Heat transfer through air

What kind of heat transport do you want to model ? Heat conduction, convection or radiation ? Or all together ?
