Anodising Specification for Aircraft Seating

Anodising Specification for Aircraft Seating

Hi All

I'm involved in a project developing a low-cost passenger seat.  To put out requests for quotation I need an anodising specification for the seat primary structure (legs and hangers).  Is there a commonly used spec I can apply?  We are looking to meet current specs and not future-proof with the Airbus TSA spec. which proved to be prohibitively expensive.  Any pointers gratefully received.  Thanks!

Thanks for that.  There are lots of variants once you get inside the spec; you don't happen to know exactly what I should be asking for?  Cheers for the help.

RE: Anodising Specification for Aircraft Seating

Depends on the exact application (aesthetics vs. bonding, etc.).  Here are some recent references on the subject that should be helpful:

Thanks TVP, bonding is not required as it is a bolted construction; my main considerations are aesthetics (the legs are visible) and resistance to scuffing/scratching in service (passenger wear and tear).  The planned alloys are 7075 (legs/hangers) and 2014A (spar tubes) both in the T6 condition.
