I went to site recently to help with the build of something I've designed and it seems something slipped the net... On one of the parts - a flat 10mm thick piece of alu. - I specified some countersunk holes: they were correct on the part, and I went so far as to hit edit feature to check I hadn't done something funky when creating them (I usually just click the face I want the hole on, then hit hole wizard and dimension holes in the wizard). Couldn't see anything odd here.
On the drawing I used a hole table to detail the holes. There were three instances of csk holes, one nearside, two farside and several holes in each instance. The hole table seems to have omitted the note to state the csk's were on the far side of the part, so the manufacturer has - obviously - put them in nearside. You'll be pleased, as I was, to know it was solve-able on this occasion!
Not looking to blame anyone/thing here, but I've just run into the same scenario again on a separate part: no note re. csk's on far side. Bit paranoid about this now. Is there something obvious you know about that might cause this behaviour?

Have either of the calloutformat.txt or calloutformat2.txtfiles been changed to eliminate the "Far Side" notation?

Are those program type files? To be honest, I'm going to say no, firstly because I wouldn't know where to find them and secondly although we have had it for a couple of months, I only installed 2012 last week (client wanted to stay with 2011 for a bit longer and I now have a new workstation) so today is really the first day using it in anger. I haven't had enough time to tinker with settings!

They can be customized. I would check the difference between 2011 and 2012. SW does sometimes change things without putting it in the What's New.

We would likely be able to give you better help if you could post the part and drawing files. C'sink far side is an option in the bottom of the Hole Wizard dialogue box. If I recall correctly a new hole has that option set to the same as the most recently inserted HW hole, so it is easy to miss it. Check the HW holes by editing them and looking at the bottom of the HW dialogue box for the c'sink options. Also, near side vs. far side is relative to the surface the hole is placed on and how the note is shown in the drawing. This makes the point again to post your files.

I have attached two files; my part and a drawing. I created a completely new drawing just to check I hadn't done something silly, and I have the same error again. As you can see, the 'A' group of holes include the 'Far Side' note, whereas the 'C' and 'D' holes don't. Any ideas?
