NX Drafting Format

NX Drafting Format

NX Drafting Format

(OP)
Afternoon all, I am very new to NX5 and this is what I am trying to do.

I have an existing NX prt file, which is just 3D data. I wish to create a 2D drawing using a Autocad (dxf) format but in NX5.

I have read about Input and patter, but I seem to be missing something, because it doesn't work. If I open the dxf file seperately everything comes in nicely to NX.

Anyone got some nice very basic (NX for Dummies) suggestions?

Thanks,
rg

RE: NX Drafting Format

RG,

I'm not very clear on what you're trying to do.  If you have the drafting module,  why don't you create your 2D drawing in NX, and then export out a DXF file?

I need to use a specific autocad format (title block, border, etc.) in the drawing first. So, I am trying to get that stuff into my NX drawing.
The customer wants a NX file, not Autocad.

RE: NX Drafting Format

Theres an faq that explains some of what you want. Import your dxf, then use the faq from there.
